Pastor Demetrius Springer Sr. is a passionate preacher, gifted communicator, Christian recording artist, and dedicated servant-leader whose ministry is rooted in a deep commitment to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and transforming lives through the power of God’s Word.
Answering the call to ministry at the age of 19, Pastor Springer began his ministerial journey as a Christian recording artist and itinerant preacher, traveling throughout the country sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through both music and the preached Word. From the beginning, his mission has remained steadfast: to make the message of Christ accessible, relevant, and transformative for people from all walks of life.
His pastoral journey began at Winton Hill Community Church (PCUSA), where he served as Youth Pastor under the mentorship and spiritual guidance of the Reverend Dr. Theodore “Chip” Hall. In 2014, he continued his calling in youth ministry at Third Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Recognizing his gifts for preaching, teaching, and leadership, the congregation welcomed him into the role of Associate Pastor in 2017. In 2019, he answered the call to serve as Senior Pastor, where he continues to lead the congregation with vision, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to biblical truth.
As Senior Pastor of Third Presbyterian Church, Pastor Springer is committed to cultivating a Christ-centered community where faith is strengthened, lives are transformed, and people are empowered to serve God by serving others. His approach to ministry emphasizes biblical teaching, spiritual growth, authentic relationships, and meaningful engagement with the surrounding community.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pastor Springer is a graduate of Mt. Healthy High School and pursued studies in accounting and finance at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. Beyond the pulpit, he has built a professional career in the financial services industry, helping individuals and families make informed financial decisions and work toward greater financial stability.
Pastor Springer is also an entrepreneur and the founder of Deacon Board Studios, an audio recording facility located in Mt. Healthy, Ohio. Through the studio, he has collaborated with numerous talented Christian artists throughout the region, using music and creative expression as additional avenues for ministry and outreach.
Known for his energetic delivery, engaging personality, and ability to communicate profound biblical truths with clarity and conviction, Pastor Springer brings a distinctive voice to the pulpit. His preaching combines sound biblical exposition, practical life application, compelling storytelling, and an infectious enthusiasm for the Gospel. Whether challenging believers toward spiritual maturity or encouraging those navigating life’s difficulties, his desire is to present God’s Word in a way that speaks to both the heart and the mind.
His passion for communicating the Gospel extends beyond the sanctuary and into the world of Christian music. Recording under the name Deacon D.A.S., Pastor Springer has released several Christian hip-hop projects, including Losin’ My Religion, Triumphant, Otherworldly, and Blood & Wine, among others. Through his music, he continues to bridge the gap between faith and culture, reaching audiences who might never encounter the Gospel through traditional ministry settings.
Above all, Pastor Springer treasures his calling as a husband and father. He and his wife, Keisha, have been married since 2007 and are the proud parents of two sons, Demetrius Jr. and Elias. His family remains an essential part of his life and ministry.
